How to Register

Submit up to 2 deadline goals. Copy the below form and fill out for each deadline goal.

Then paste the filled-in form into the Forward Motion Challenges Forum or the “Deadline Registration” Discord room.

Instructions:

Names: If you are both on the website and Discord then list both. Doing so allows us to assign badges in both locations.

DO NOT insert your email address. Moderators are able to contact you without you listing them.

Goal Title: This should include what your finished goal is. Such as “Finish Draft”, “Create 10”, “Finish outline”, and so on.

Description: What is this goal about? Keep this short.

Deadline: Yes, you must have a deadline for this challenge!

Milestones: Reaching and reporting milestones will earn you more Pirate Gold!

End Goal: Think of this as a journey destination. Milestones are the cities you visit along the way.

In the USA? This tells us if you are eligible for physical rewards or digital rewards.

Deadlines

  • Deadlines are major goals you want to achieve that fall under one of the Qualifying Activity categories above.
  • Once you achieve a deadline goal, you may submit a new one using the registration form. but only 2 active goals are allowed.
  • Missed deadlines do not earn Pirate Gold. However, any milestones reached before the deadline DO earn Pirate Gold.
  • Complete as many deadlines as you like, but keep in mind that:

You may only have 2 active deadlines at a time!

  • Moderators may ask for more specific and detailed goals if they feel the registered deadline is not clear.

Cap’n’s TIP! Create manageable and attainable deadlines. For one of your slots consider a smaller goal that is more easily attained, leaving the second for a bigger goal.

Milestones

  • For each registered deadline goal, you may also register up to 3 milestones.
  • Create Milestones as small steps to help you reach your bigger goals over time. We hope this will help you learn how to recognize and set smaller goals that lead you to your bigger goals.

Cap’n’s TIP! Registering milestones will allow you to earn even more Pirate Gold!

Pirate Gold

  • Pirate Gold is earned by reaching deadline goals, accomplishments, participation, and in other ways. See the Pirate Gold page.
  • Pirate Gold values for registered Deadlines and Milestones will be assigned by a Moderator based on the Pirate Gold page.
  • Pirate Gold may be used in exchange for various digital and physical rewards [see LINK here].

Cap’n’s NOTE! Pirate Gold is not legal tender, legal currency, or legal money. Pirate Gold cannot be exchanged for any type of currency and is worth nothing monetarily.

Trading or Selling

Trading or selling Pirate Gold, badges, or rewards is prohibited. If someone engages in trading or selling Pirate Gold, badges, or rewards, all achieved Pirate Gold, badges, and rewards will be forfeited and the participant will be permanently banned from the challenge.

Suspected Cheating

This challenge operates on the honor system. Please be honest about what you accomplish and report. Lying not only hurts you, but makes it harder to run the challenge. Please don’t do this. Be honest. This is about you helping you. Don’t ruin it for yourself and others.

Anyone suspected of misusing or abusing the honor system for rewards and/or Pirate Gold may need to have their work verified. Continued misuse and abuse may result in a permanent ban from the challenge.

Treasure Bag

One of the rewards that can be earned in this challenge is a drawing for physical rewards from the Treasure Bag. The item(s) drawn will then be mailed! At the current time this is limited to the USA.

If, for any reason, mailing is not possible, then other special digital treasures will be offered or the used Pirate Gold added back to the winner’s total.

Challenge Moderation

The owner and moderators of Forward Motion retain complete ownership of, and have the final say on, any and all aspects of the challenge, including but not limited to the permissibility of registration, validity of deadlines or milestones, issuing of awards, badges, Pirate Gold, and rewards. The moderators say is final. Do not argue. We are serious about this.

Participation in the challenge is strictly voluntary and for fun.
