Time, usually. I hate drugs and detest doctors.
If I am lucky, they last a few days. During which time I find something mindless to do, like stare at the tv. If it lasts more than a week, my sister starts threatening to haul my sorry tail to the doctor. In lieu of that, I’ll try doing little things, like hiking and photography, that can make me feel a little better.

Slightly off tangent.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I cannot write when I am depressed. I have to wait the spell out. It’s not a matter of lack of mood, which typically is missing, it is that I can’t. If I try to force something, I spend most of the time staring at a blank page and then get even more depressed at the lack of progress. That is also when I am most likely to trash out anything I have been working on, certain that nothing I put down is worth reading. (I couldn’t even begin to count the number of stories that have been abandoned and posts/comments not made during these spells.)

Everyone in our area of NoVa made it through okay.
A few of my co-workers had issues with water in basements and one tree down but no one has been hurt.
Going to be fun around here for a few days but I think we got off lighter than when the derecho hit in June.

I’ve lost track of the number of times I have been “Bah, I got nothing” or
“I only got done” in the chat room and something she has said has spurred me to get some work done. [including the occasional soft thawp to stop comparing our output to more seasoned writers.] :whistle: Still Not doing the NaNo though.
