That’s a relief, actually. I could use honest but polite and actual critiquing as opposed to ‘how dare you point out he has a flaw? you (insert rude word) you’re horrid and talentless and you should never ever write anything again’

and that was about a piece of original work. Like heroes are supposed to be perfect and flawless.

I can’t find the roving crits.

I used to write what some called fanfiction but what I realized eventually was original fiction because the themes did not fit what I got pushed into writing. They called it fanfiction because I wrote genres popular in pop-culture so I got dragged into that, but it never felt like it was truly mine if that makes sense. When I wrote my novella it felt different because it was characters and a world that I built.

The site said they took any story but if you did not write their favorites how they saw them you were attacked and abused.

I wrote on another site that took original works, but there I got yelled at for pointing out things that feel wrong to me in morals and such. I started writing my own things and not posting them any more after that.

I am hoping this forum is a little less antagonistic. The last place I wrote seriously for I was told it was perfectly all right for the people who read the works to verbally attack and abuse the writer if they did not like the work.
