Sfiosky had heard about it, how priests and nuns of Onzhiosty heard Angelsong when they were ordained, but he didn’t believe it until he received his blessing and heard it too.
Kevin picked CG up from Girl Scout camp.
I “hemmed” CG’s band pants (they have snaps on the inside to make the length adjustable) and gathered all her uniform pieces.
Kevin dropped CG at school to take the band bus to the parade. Then Kev and I did the weekly chat with T-Bug before we headed out to watch the parade.
Dinner was chicken…[Read more]

Cleaned up the kitchen.
Boxed up some items for T-Bug (including some scones) and sent them off at the post office.

Yay for doing the job application and video interview, volunteer shift, appointments done, and new glasses for you and Tess! And hooray for writing going well!

Just now realized that I didn’t do goals for this week or post an update yesterday, so here it is:
– Sunday after game, I applied online at the local lab company ARUP. I may have mentioned wanting to get a job there before. The application process was pretty painless, and I entered the name of the employee who referred me and provided her info on…[Read more]

Got up to see Kevin off, then went back to bed until ~9:30.
Caught up on some SFWA stuff today, did the exec call, and poked at the discussion boards. Still have a couple e-mails to deal with.
Although CG was home, she spent most of the day sleeping. Think she just needed to catch up, but we were supposed to work on her room.
Thought I was awake, but my eyes kept closing, and the second time I dropped my phone, I gave up fighting and went back to sleep until 10:30-ish.
Wrote about 250 words on Maenad March.
Read more on the NaNo forums (which are much faster now).
Poked at email and forums.
Still need to do today’s Inktober drawing.
I’m using East and West relative to some undetermined landmark or location on the moon so far. What I’m really looking for is how the sun relates to the side of the moon that faces the Earth. I’m having trouble visualizing it in my head. Depending on how clear that visualization is/becomes, I may be using that as the east/west reference in future.…[Read more]
Slept in until after 11.
Did pretty much nothing worthwhile the rest of the day besides keeping up with
Ordered pizza for dinner.
Kev went off to work as usual.
CG realized she hadn’t gotten her science homework done, so she worked on that and missed her bus, so I had to drive her.
Got recycling out.
Cleaned up t…[Read more]

So, the past couple days, I’ve been reading through what I had of my one SF mystery (previously titled Boost) and some new ideas have developed. Originally, this story was supposed to go dark, but I never felt comfortable with that idea, so I stopped working on it. These new ideas coincide better with a more optimistic series. So now I don’t know…[Read more]
I’ve tried searching for info on how things would look on the moon for someone living there for one of my few SF stories. Basic premise is that there’s a community living on the moon. I’m not sure about its orientation, or how to determine direction on the moon while on the moon though I’ve been using “east” and “west” to describe the locations of…[Read more]
Stayed up this morning and even took a shower!
Ran some errands: bought new gloves for T-Bug, dropped off a check for CG at her school, went to the post office to mail winter stuff for T-Bug (heavy coat, winter jacket, the gloves), and got gas for the car.
Did some more poking at the NaNo forums and earned a few more badges.
Picked CG…[Read more]

Mac (High Sierra), Safari, I see the same thing Margaret does — if the focus is not in the reply box, the type looks darker:
Wow, that cold really has slowed me down this week. Blech.
Got trash out.
Went back to bed for a couple hours.
Worked on finishing laundry.
Spent time learning all the ins and outs of the new NaNo forums (did the tutorial and the advanced tutorial).
Poked at SFWA discussion boards.
Cooked a pot of beans. Did tacos for dinner.
Hugs on the itchy wool blanket, late pick-up for your appointment, and Excel crashing multiple times!
Yay for remembering everything for breakfast, transit bus jostling your shoulder back into place, being told you’re doing everything you should, continuing to read, remembering what you watched, and catching up on your stats!
Good luck with…[Read more]
