For me this has been a cyclical thing. Sometimes I’m writing romances in everything, other times I don’t have them at all. A few years ago I was knee-deep in Romance, even wrote some erotica. But recently I’ve lost interest in true romance stories. The characters might or might not have sexual or romantic relationships, but I’m not as interested in explorung ‘how to get to a happy ending’ as I was before. Now, I’m more interested in seeing what non-traditional roads those relationsthips can take, if they exist at all.
So, I guess, for me, it depends on my current mood.
