Maybe it’s another trigger, but that doesn’t explain why it was happening to me this morning. I was writing out quick responses and hitting ‘submit’ right away. No stepping away during this time except once, and oddly, that one went through fine. Strange.
ADDED: In the time it took me to type the above and hit submit, it did it to me again. There was no waiting to hit ‘submit.’ How frustrating.

Here is one that a lot of bestsellers follow (the beat, even if it’s unconscious), which is known as “The Lester Dent Pulp Paper Master Fiction Plot.” The information in the following link is an excerpt from a longer article Lester Dent (author of the Doc Savage series) gave on his method for writing his shorter stories. However, it’s still applicable for longer works, which he used on his short novels. Just increase how many words it takes to get to each milestone in the story.
I’ve used this pattern myself a few times, and it’s a lot of fun.

Welcome to the new boards! We’re all still settling in.

It’s great that you are able to bring your love of reading and writing into your job! Although, with all of those classes, I imagine you are kept running.
Nice to hear that you will be joining us for Nano. I’m hoping for a fun November season of writing!

Hello Jean! Nice job on the FAQs. That’s a big job on a new board where we’re all learning.
As for genre, eh. Have fun with the writing. That’s the important part. If you are having fun writing all sorts of genres, then go for it.
And have fun with Holly’s class! I enjoyed going through that, myself. I learned a lot that I’m still using on novels today. You are right. It does get easier with subsequent efforts. On top of that, not all books need all the steps which can make it go even faster. I hope you will be happy with the finished novel at the end of it.

SIGH. And it just did it again. Mar, this post did not come out under yours when I look using Safari. It wrapped around to a new page and is sitting all by its lonesome with no attachment at all to your post, even though it’s indented.
Could this possibly have something to do with how pagination works with this software? As in, it won’t push a previous 20th post to the new page so that a reply can go under the post its replying to? So instead it kicks it off to the new page without any visual attachment?
Um, I hope that made sense.

Well, nice idea, but I have my preferences set as threaded-indented (Preferred Message Ordering is set to “Default”). The posts still come out in the wrong order.

And another Mod pops up!
I keep wanting to write a mystery cozy, but then they veer off into SF action adventure. One of these days I’ll do it! Although I have a feeling it’ll still have strange things going on.

Thanks for all the work you do on the Motivation and Marketing boards.

Out of curiosity, did you post your regular post at the Nano site about the book? I didn’t see it there last week. So many people have found it helpful.

Some of those ideas incited some of my plot bunnies to hop up and down! Like I need more right now.

Thanks for sharing!

Considering how the markets, retailers, and other factors that keep changing, I don’t think we’ll ever stop learning. Heck, not learning can be downright dangerous in any industry!
Have fun with your other genres. That’s something I’m enjoying myself.
