Most books I get for free I try to read. I figure it’s a great way to try out a new author or a new series.
Thanks, David, Michael, and Zette! Good points all. Much to think about.
jhmcullen – Thank you for your feedback. Um, I want to make this story shorter and more streamlined. There are approx. 12 threads, but there is a main one, and I’m considering getting rid of at least 2. Maybe more. There’s a major character in each thread if that helps.
I don’t think I can do this in novelettes. It’s a rather complex story. I like the idea of doing it by date. I’ll see if that helps.
David – Absolutely! That’s another thing I’ve been wondering, if it’s just better to rewrite it from scratch.
Linda Adams & Ashe – I recall having issues, too, with LSB, so I pretty much dumped it. I always end up sticking with Open Office.
Thank you everyone. You’ve really helped.
Ashe & Wandering Author- I tried LSB too, and had trouble with it. I seem to do better with just OpenOffice. And thank you for the luck! I need it! I do appreciate your suggestions!
JuneDrexler – That’s a really good idea. I’ll give that a shot.
Linda Adams – I was hoping not to redraft it, but it might turn out better. After all, I’ve really improved as a writer since writing it.
Wandering Author – That is something I’ve been considering.
Ashe – I’ve tried Scrivener, but it really doesn’t work for me. I do have notecards in a program called SuperNotecard.
Thank you for your feedback! It is a big help.

May 5, 2013 at 5:09 pm in reply to: Pantsers, what’s the worst thing outliners have said to you? #218740I got this once on another board. A writer, clearly an outliner, told me that my books must be a mess and it’s a waste of time writing things that have to be so heavily revised. Well, that’s the way I work. I wasn’t even sure how to respond to that. *shrugs*
I am not a Scribd user, but I appreciate the reminder about passwords. You can never be too safe or paranoid.
I’ve had lots of story ideas come in the form of dreams. In one, there were these people who shapeshifted into dolphins, which I thought was awesome. Another dream gave me an idea for a sequel to the WIP I was working on at the time. Sometimes I just take the kernel of the idea and expand on it.
Because if I don’t, I will go insane. Writing helps me deal with life. It helps me get back to center. It keeps me out of trouble.
And I have so many stories inside me that I want to write and share with the world.
I also joined in 2003. Time does fly.
Thanks Maripat and J.A. Marlow! It’s going pretty well.
I made it. Looks quite different but cool.
