Stayed up after CG and Kev left.
Baked blueberry scones and pumpkin scones.
Cleaned up the kitchen.
Boxed up some items for T-Bug (including some scones) and sent them off at the post office.
Spent entirely too much time and energy on a SFWA-related matter where I would have been better off keeping my mouth shut. Was…[Read more]

Yay for doing the job application and video interview, volunteer shift, appointments done, and new glasses for you and Tess! And hooray for writing going well!
Okay, I’m finally calling it quits. Every day, I’ve had “do stats” on my list. I’m keeping the basic notes, but not the numbers stuff. I can post the notes, I suppose, but they’re not all that productive :p.
I had what I thought was two appointments that turned out they’d moved both but I only understood one had moved, so thought they’d split the…[Read more]

Ooh, clever. Thanks for the photos.
Got the trash out.
Went to the library because I had a book that I couldn’t renew.
Poked at the SFWA boards.
Gossiped about the Fireside novella cancellations.
Discovered a new site to spend time on with lots of good articles about writing: https://mythcreants.com/
Still need to do today’s Inktober drawing — after dinner, which i…[Read more]
Got up to see Kevin off, then went back to bed until ~9:30.
Caught up on some SFWA stuff today, did the exec call, and poked at the discussion boards. Still have a couple e-mails to deal with.
Although CG was home, she spent most of the day sleeping. Think she just needed to catch up, but we were supposed to work on her room.
Thought I was awake, but my eyes kept closing, and the second time I dropped my phone, I gave up fighting and went back to sleep until 10:30-ish.
Wrote about 250 words on Maenad March.
Read more on the NaNo forums (which are much faster now).
Poked at email and forums.
Still need to do today’s Inktober drawing.
Slept in until after 11.
Did pretty much nothing worthwhile the rest of the day besides keeping up with
Ordered pizza for dinner.
Kev went off to work as usual.
CG realized she hadn’t gotten her science homework done, so she worked on that and missed her bus, so I had to drive her.
Got recycling out.
Cleaned up t…[Read more]
Fairly similar to last week. Let’s hear it for consistency?

Keep up with discussion boards
Continue daily sketches

Busy Friday for sure. Hugs on still feeling the cold, but you managed a lot around it :). Yay for NaNo prep and Inktober. I’m sure T-Bug appreciated the cold weather gear and hope the chorus performance went well.
Just a thought, but since East and West are dependent on Earth’s magnetic pole, how about having a central location with history and have directions relate to that rather than side to side? It opens up a subtle but rich bit of world building based on whatever that central location is. If it’s where the first lunar landing occurred, then the roots…[Read more]
Stayed up this morning and even took a shower!
Ran some errands: bought new gloves for T-Bug, dropped off a check for CG at her school, went to the post office to mail winter stuff for T-Bug (heavy coat, winter jacket, the gloves), and got gas for the car.
Did some more poking at the NaNo forums and earned a few more badges.
Picked CG…[Read more]

Mac (High Sierra), Safari, I see the same thing Margaret does — if the focus is not in the reply box, the type looks darker:

Thanks for checking it. It might be more than that. At least in Chrome, when you click reply (with quote is what I usually use, so maybe it’s different), everything is fine until you click into the box to type. Then it appears as if a white overlay covers the box, but also the text, dropping the black text down to a dim grey. If that overlay…[Read more]
Thanks :). I’m slowly working the knots out, but they’re still pulling the joint out of place :p. As to the monitor, I may just leave the mediums for use with laptops and reading books. I’ve been reading a paper book! It’s still a bit complicated between the glasses and sometimes needing a color overlay, but it’s possible.
So what you’re telling me is we’re trading Inktober for month end? I think you had the more fun end of the picture.
The chair thing is discovering that a chair which presses on the back of my legs (as it should in a standard 90 degree position) makes my legs numb, my feet and ankles freezing, and swells them so much I have trouble walking (on top…[Read more]
