I think I was late 30s. Honestly, since my brain started fading after the year of hell I’d have to research it. What my gyn said was they hadn’t studied early HRT so don’t know whether it triggers risks of heart attack and all. However, in your mom’s case, it surely might have been a factor. And yeah, I really don’t think I’ll have a problem with…[Read more]
CG got to orchestra rehearsal — even after realizing she had to catch up on some listening homework first thing this morning!
Wrote 2,202 words on Maenads.
Re-colored my hair. (Same shade, but now the roots are colored, and it’s brighter overall.)
T-Bug got the package I mailed Saturday. He’s trying to figure out how long he can e…[Read more]
Went around the neighborhood. Took Gracie with me. Tripped and skinned one knee, but otherwise okay.

Went to Walmart with both Mom and CG. Got Mom’s Rx. Picked up some tie-dye stuff to do with CG and parts of her Halloween costume (yes, she’s planning ahead).
Got my newsletter…[Read more]
Maybe not as young as you (?), but my mom had surgical menopause in her 30s, and when the info about ties between HRT and heart disease came out, no one thought to tell Mom until after her second heart attack … I’d say hot flashes are a minor issue comparatively.
Hugs on the dizziness and staring at the computer.
Yay for catching up on the B…[Read more]
Today was rough, but I managed to pull some productivity from it. If I let myself drift and do nothing, the meds can keep the migraines in a range that’s probably damaging me but I’ve learned to tolerate. As soon as I think I’m well enough to push on something, though… Yeah, it’ll be an interesting chat with the neurologist next time…[Read more]
Good luck with everything, Erin :).
Yeah, well, it may not look like it, but I’m not getting much functional time out of the day whether I sleep in or not, especially if I have to push for an appointment :p.
And the new FitBit recognized the sleep. Even classified it by type based on my restlessness and O2 intake. It just wouldn’t score the whole night and I don’t understand…[Read more]

The day made longer sounds like most of your days.
Yay for moving the sorting boxes, changing to an ordered list, sleeping in (even if your new FitBit didn’t recognize it as such), updating your paperwork, short walk, family chat, prepping for today’s appointment, and getting your hair clean! That’s a pretty busy day!
Very short day made longer by staying up way too late, but there you have it. On the other hand, I got some important thing done…oh, and moved the sorting boxes into my study. My grand plan is to fill each box with what’s on my desk then go through them one at a time. The scope has been overwhelming me and this is my solution. Wish me luck.…[Read more]
Okay, I’m back to try again. We’ll see how well I do this week. In my favor, I have only one appointment and it’s tomorrow so maybe I’ll recover before the week ends. Working against me is how many things have become urgent as the end of the month approaches and I still haven’t finished July’s stuff.
1 ) Month/year End (14 items/Half Goal:…[Read more]
Yay for writing on Manead, but I hope you used that temptation to fuel next week’s writing :).
Hugs on the cold, but nice family stuff, progress on the job search and SFWA, and birthday celebrations :).
Looks like a good, mellow day. Yay for chatting with T-Bug, mailing the care package, and CG hanging with a friend, and you getting hubby and mom time.

Did the weekly chat with T-Bug, mostly while watching Kevin game.
Put together and mailed T-Bug’s care package.

Hugs on the falling out and the stress of playing intermediary!
Good Omens is on my to-watch list. The book was the first one Kevin recommended to me when we were dating, because I loved Pratchett. First Gaiman I read. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it!
Hooray for feeling optimistic about writing!
Hugs on feeling poorly. Hope the fresher medicine helps you recover faster.
As to the cakes, I doubt you got any complaints as the taste is what matters. You’ll make T-Bug popular with such lovely care packages.
Hope CG enjoys her dance and happy belated bday to Kevin.
