Hello everyone *waves* My name is Tommehbell and I am a avid bibliophile. Seriously my books are starting to take over my room. I’ve been attempting to finish a novel for years. Note I said finish lol. Since I’ve been doing NaNoWriMo since 2010 I’ve gotten awfully good at starting novels I just need to actually sit down and finish one lol. This past NANo season was my first as a ML which was exciting and a tad scary for me, but I made it through it and we had a ton of winners so that was awesome. I am in the process of trying to go to graduate school for creative writing as I want to be an author. So I want to get into the habit of writing every single day and actually finishing something!
I am a total fantasy freak. I just love fantasy! Its the best genre there is. There aren’t any rules and anything is up for grabs. I’ve recently gotten into a fairy tale mode and my last few stories have centered around that. I’ve grown out of my werewolves and vampires stage to say the least. I do like children’s and YA fantasy. Well not all YA fantasy. I can only take so much brooding and love triangles.
December 23, 2012 at 3:27 am #210153Welcome. Some people find morning pages helpful (writing three pages of whatever comes into your head first thing in the morning) for getting in the habit of writing regularly. Other people find the 750words.com site helpful. But here on FM, we have the goals page where we post our goals for the week, month, year and track accomplishment and cheer one another on.
Good luck.

Have a look around the site and be sure to check out chat as well. If you have any questions, please ask.

December 24, 2012 at 7:14 am #210155An, another Wrimo! There are many of us here, including ML’s (like me). Even after so many years of participating, I look forward to it. Zette is starting up her 2-year novel workshop, which may help you with a few writing techniques, including some for helping you finish what you start. The workshop is free. All you have to do is sign up for it in the sign-up thread.
As for fantasy, there are a lot of fantasy writers here. You are in good company. As for what you are writing changing with time, you’ll find that never ends. Evolving and changing is a good thing. It keeps writing interesting and keeps it from growing stale and predictable. Who knows what you’ll be writing a few years from now!
Welcome to Forward Motion! Enjoy your stay.
