Yes, fellow writers, I’ve just met the final enemy and slapped him one with a trout. It’s bent scythe time.

Seriously though my writing will never be the same, I’ve looked right into the afterlife and come back. It leaves me with a sense of explosive joy that I hope to pass on.

I have seen what matters and what doesn’t, too much to tell quickly.

Oh, wow! I’m glad you pulled through!

Yay for the trout and that the bent scythe missed.

    Happy writing,

Glad you pulled through. That’s scary, but figures you’d get writing inspiration from it :). More power to your muse.

She remakes mechanical devices, and he dreams of becoming a steamship captain in The Steamship Chronicles. Book 1 is free in eBook.

That sounds like a terrifying experience. I’m glad you made it through, and got some new perspective out of the deal. Best of luck on your recovery.

Strangely there was no fear involved. Once I realised that the situation was life-threatening everything went utterly cold and logical. I had to stay conscious so that I could tell the doctors what was happening, and that meant putting everything I had into the fight. Fear doesn’t help you win so I turned it off.

It was only afterwards that I felt the explosive joy of having been so close to God. By then the time for fear had passed.
