October 16, 2012 at 9:38 am #206628Welcome to the madhouse! But, were a fun madhouse, with lots of loony writers running around… hmm.
Anyway, join in the discussions and let us know if you have any questions!

I don’t always let people read what I write due to an adult friend laughing at my story back in high school. That was back in the 80’s….. 88 maybe.
Haven’t really written since.
I have a hard time finishing. Can picture it all in my head, but can’t get it on paper.
October 20, 2012 at 7:53 pm #207256No one will laugh at you here. We’ve all been there, and we know how much it hurts. I’ve only had serious, well-meaning critiques on my work. Sometimes they sting, of course, but everyone who posts really, REALLY wants to help. Not all of us are as tactful as we’d like to be (guilty, I tend to be a bit blunt), but we all want to help you improve and be the best writer you can be.
Please do post you questions! You’ll get the best results in the appropriate board, such as Writing Techniques. Not many people watch this board.
Happy writing,
Deb Salisbury

No one will laugh here, as Magic Seeker said, and when you do get the courage to offer your words to others to read you will get help as well as encouragement. I’ll make sure of that
There are plenty of places to get help in the mean time.
The http://www.fmwriters.com/zoomfm/index.php/forum/techniques%5D Techniques forum is one place and you’ll find everyone has difficulties they need to work on.
There is Chat (the link is on the banner above the tabs) for getting answer in a more immediate fashion.
http://www.fmwriters.com/zoomfm/index.php/forum/justin-s-daily-exercises%5DJustin’s Daily Exercises is a place you can get promts to practice on – just write a few hundred words that come to you. You can also post your results and people will encourage.
Also Roving Crits, a board where you can post up to 4000 words and recieve helpful, constructive comments. go http://www.fmwriters.com/zoomfm/index.php/forum/critique-connection/70-sign-up-for-roving-crits%5Dhere to ask to join in.
There are heaps of other places to get specific help too. Forward Motion is a place of learning and encouragment. You just have to find what works for you.
