Submitomancy is in development as a replacement for duotrope. http://www.indiegogo.com/submitomancy
And here is a post that posts more information about what’s going on with it. http://www.google.com/reader/view/?hl=en&tab=wy#stream/user%2F00021419344320560641%2Flabel%2FVP16
Think it looks promising?
January 6, 2013 at 9:48 pm #213131I knew the moment Duotrope started charging (so much) that it was pretty much dead and that someone else would come along to do something similar. I hope they are able to put something together for all genres. There’s a real need for it.

There’s a real need for it.I’ve also seen other online sites suddenly start charging for services after offering them for free — it often ends up killing the business. If you give something away and then suddenly start charging, the users will feel betrayed. There were many ways Duotrope could have done a pay option; what they chose was probably the worst choice. We’ll see what happens with this new site.
