So, I was reading back yesterday’s writing and came across this.
The captain said, “Send them assure.”
Hmmmm: He might have meant ashore.
I have no idea what I was thinking when I typed that one. 😳 :woohoo: :silly:
January 29, 2015 at 7:06 am #237926I had one book where I constantly tried to spell “earthquake” as EARTHQUACK.
Apparently the earth moved and went, “Quack quack quack”
😆

February 4, 2015 at 11:39 am #237929My keyboard purposefully skips N’s T’s S’s and a few other keys including the occasional press of the space bar. Everything I write needs correcting. This is what Elon Musk has been waring us about!
Edit: You see? Warning* us about.
February 4, 2015 at 3:43 pm #237927It’s really a pain when the word you mistype is actually a word. Spellcheckers don’t pick up on that. Beta readers can help. I’ve also found that reading my work aloud can help me catch some of those errors.
February 6, 2015 at 8:44 pm #237928I use LibreOffice and there is an extension called “Language Tools” which can provide grammar checking. It does catch a lot of those correctly spelled but incorrect words, and many other grammar issues. You can also add to the list if there is a grammar error that is not listed.
Highly recommended!!!
