The Guardian asked a group of writers their rules for writing. There’s a part one and a part two. A read through might get you a couple of usable tips. I don’t think Elmore Leonard’s “Don’t start with the weather,” means quite what it sounds like.

Anyway, if you digest this lot, you shouldn’t ever want another batch. Don’t miss Margaret Attwood’s tip about the two pencils. Zette was right about everybody having their own batch of tips.

I’m well on the way with my best seller. All I need now is a story and some characters. Oh,yes! And a genre. Then I can start writing.

I’ve got the feeling I posted this before. I can’t remember how to post a link now :S

The writing conference I went to at the end of Aug. had a great class on Elmore Leonard’s rules. Very interesting.

Are you going to hide what it was that was great?

I think it was more the person teaching the class that made it so interesting then anything else. :)
