November is coming up fast. Some here still participate in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), either officially or unofficially. For me, I am doing so unofficially, as there are things going on with the non-profit that I am uncomfortable with.
So I was thinking of doing something special here at FM. Perhaps adult writing-oriented coloring pages for hitting various writing goals? And accompanying participation/achievement certificates?
November is such a busy month, so maybe having goals for levels of time spent (with awards for 10 hours, 20 hours, and so on), or words (10k, 20k, and so on).
Does anyone else have any ideas?
September 4, 2024 at 10:03 am #307114I haven’t been on here in ages–I came over when I heard the news about Holly and happened to see this post. I’m surprised my login even still works.
I deleted my NaNoWriMo account and don’t plan to go back. It’s been year after year of questionable (and worse) behavior. But the surge of writing energy from pushing for a challenging goal in the company of many other writers has always been a big part of my writing life. A November challenge here would be great!

Yeah, the Nano organization is just one train crash after another the last few years. If you have any ideas for how to set up the challenge here I would love to hear it!
September 8, 2024 at 12:44 pm #307124I would love to see a writing Challenge in this group. I love tracking word count. It’s hard for me to track hours.
I’ve been looking for a new site to track words, but so far it’s been hard to find one let alone one that I could have as an app. Right now I’m trying to get http://wordkeeperalpha.com/ to work for me. so if anyone has another word tracking site to try out let me know.

We used to do a bare-bones sort of thing where we’d set up a subform for the event, and then the people participating each created their own thread, where they could report their progress and others could comment and offer support. I don’t recall ever having anything like a spreadsheet within the forum to track word counts, but there may have been something after I quit hanging out here.
