I registered with FM some time ago but got sidetracked on another site. I’ll try it again and see how it goes. I’ve been writing for a long time with success here and there, now and then. Looking for an active site where honest critiques are exchanged.

I’ve always been impressed with the helpful people here, and their ability to be honest in feedback while also remaining tactful. As you are interested in critiques, be sure to sign up for the Roving Crit board.

November 4, 2012 at 11:59 pm #208247Thanks, Magic, J.A.,Maripat for the welcome. I’ll give Roving Crit a look. That’s how we learn, hearing from other writers, who make very discerning readers.
November 5, 2012 at 12:15 am #208195Another way we learn in writing is to give crits. Seeing the same problem we have in another writer’s work enables us to spot it better–and thereby correct it easier–in our own writing. I remember learning much more from giving crits than I ever did from crits I received when I did them–then again, that was probably because I have to turn on my inner editor when I’m reading to crit someone else’s writing.
I keep saying this . . . I need to get back into giving crits. LOL
And welcome, Alcarty. Glad you could join us once more! Hope you have fun and learn a lot here!
