Hey everybody,
I just learned about that site from a fellow nanowrimo and decided to join. I’m 37 years old and live in Germany, in a small town just south of Berlin. My four kids are 10yo, 8yo, 6yo and 5mo and are a great source of inspiration to me I finished a children’s book during November and am in the progress of polishing it. It would be great to get it published, too, but not sure if it is good enough. I intend to write more of the same kind of books, because it is great fun for me and for my kids, who get to read it. Fortunately, they really like to read what I write (makes me one happy and lucky mom  ). I hope to learn a lot on here and get in contact with other writers and explore new fields of writing as well!
January 4, 2013 at 9:40 pm #212574Hi Juliane! Welcome to FM!
Congratulations on finishing your children’s book, and on having such an appreciative audience. :cheer: We have a board for children’s literature, and I hope they can help you.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

You might want to check out the roving critique board. I’ve learned a lot by exchanging critiques with other writers. There’s also a Two Year Novel Class in case you’re interested.
Have a look around the site and if you have any questions, please ask.

January 7, 2013 at 11:38 pm #212588I actually thought about the critique board… but… the story is written in German! Can I put it there without translating it first? tia
January 8, 2013 at 1:36 am #213387Hmm. We have several Germany-based members, but I think we need stories in English.
I’ll ask about posting in German.

http://www.djsalisburybooks.com/Dead-Wizard-s-Loot.htmlJanuary 8, 2013 at 2:48 am #213405I asked Admin, and they gave me the answer I should have remembered:
“Site policy is all posts must be in English, because ownership cannot verify TOS-compliance in unless it’s in English. Many people establish friendships here and interact outside the site. Once they achieve that, they can do an off-site critique group in any language they prefer.”
So you might want to translate your story, but mention it was originally written in German, if anyone wants to read that version.
