March Madness is coming!

I’m going to do level 1 of this challenge, with a focus on background notes and outline wordage. I need to work on something with regards to my writing for April (before when I hope this writing downswing will lift, even if it means I’m floundering after plot cards before writing).

So:

Level 1 – 1,000 words a day – 7,000 words for the week, with a focus on background work and outlining.

20 March 16 – 0 words
21 March 16 – 380 words on the outline (1670 on the wip, but no guarantee either will go tomorrow)
22 March 16 – 0 words
23 March 16 – 0 words
24 March 16 – 1807 words on “Dirhani’s Story” for a total of 3857 (doing well, I am LOL)
25 March 16 – a whopping 6001 words on two wips, which brings my total to 9858
26 March 16 – 2396 words
Grand Total – 12,254

Which is much more than I expected.

I’ll sign up for level 1-7,000 words a day. I also got other things going this week, but I’ll see how I do. If I can do Nano, I can do this. I’ll probably work on an outline for my novel for April CampNanoWriMo.

I am going to do something odd this year. Rather than counting everything I write, I want to do a Level 1 just for my new novel, Jami. Jami is giving me a little trouble, so getting 1k a day on it would be really nice!

I started this novel on the 8th and before long I realized I was missing something and that was why it was dragging. Two days writing notes and poking at it finally brought a great answer and it’s starting to move again. I don’t want to push too hard though. Right now I’m seeding stuff back into the first 16k or so.

I just noticed the addition for outlining, and that it started today when I thought it started tomorrow, so I’m already behind and apparently doing worldbuilding. I’d hoped to get a jump start on the novel, but I’m behind.

Do you think I should give it an extra day? I thought I’d pinned it to the top but it didn’t take, so a lot of people maybe not have noticed.

Zette, I wouldn’t on my account. I overlooked it so my own stupidity. I saw the post, I “read” the post, and I decided it started on Monday. If a bunch of people chime in, sure. I certainly wouldn’t turn down an extra day, but it would mess up the counting so not just for me. I’ll manage some words today…maybe even the 1k since I’ve still got an hour to go .

I am still seeding in pieces for the first five chapters but after that it should go much faster. This is working well.
