Here we are in December, with only a few short weeks left in the year. Did you have a goal you haven’t quite met? A story you wanted to complete before 2014 arrives? Perhaps you wanted to get a submission out or finish an edit. This is the challenge to get out there and get things completed.
There are no word count goals for this challenge. This is simply a case of listing writing-related things (first drafts, edits, submissions) and working your way through the list. This is a good way to end the year on a positive work note and go into 2014 prepared for something new!
December 9, 2013 at 1:53 am #223736I adore that photo! I need to find a loose end just to celebrate it.

Happy writing,

I’m working on a little coterie of flash stories, and having them complete by New Year’s Day would be great (and also manageable). And, because a stretch goal is always a useful thing for me, personally, I’ll add in an active novel draft.
1. Write and polish flash stories (5)
2. Complete first draft of VT (novel, nearly complete).December 9, 2013 at 9:44 pm #223738I guess I’ll jump in. Two things:
1. Finish Brotherhood A (and hopefully come up with a better title for it). This is completely doable as I have about 12 or so plot cards left, and even at one scene a day, I should be done before the end of the month.
2. Complete TPOM3’s outline. I’ve finally figured out how the essentials of the final confrontation, so I should be albe to get this done before the end of the month.

* Finish writing Dreamers Cove book 1
*Publish “The Dark Phoenix (The String Weavers – Book 3)”There are a few other things I would like to get done in December, but those are the big ones. I’ll leave it at that.

December 10, 2013 at 9:57 am #223789I just wrote a blog where I will move my unfinished projects to early next year.

So, I am in. I need (and want) to learn how to colour properly in Photoshop. At least, I can draw and scan in the drawing, but all my colouring attempts look childish. It will be fun to see if I improve any by the end of December.
Oh, the loose ends are covers for current stories waiting to publish for pBooks and eBooks.
December 10, 2013 at 5:52 pm #223741That’s some fierce Santa’s helper cat!
I’d better jump in…- Transform 50K nanowrimo-muddle into coherent & detailed outline
(“phase outline” to borrow a phrase I read & resonated with in one of Zette’s articles)
December 10, 2013 at 8:49 pm #223742And I am in with two main projects:
Finish the first draft of Connor of Northgate.
Finish the final edits for Journey to Winter and get it ready for publication.
I also have to put the next issue of Vision: A Resource for Writers together. I could use some articles!
(Back to work!)

Because I might be able to come up with one of those ‘areas of specialization in real life’ articles this week for your consideration.
December 15, 2013 at 2:44 am #223743Oh, I almost forgot about this challenge!
The NaNoNovel came it at longer than 50K, so although I met the word count, I didn’t quite get it finished. I want to get it done by the end of the month. I think it’s probably about 20K words.
December 15, 2013 at 6:01 pm #223744Focusing on marketing right now.
1) I have an ebook anthology that I want to offer free for folks signing up — gotta get that edited and prepped for next month!
2) Finish up the mailing list messages. I’ve got eight out of ten written and all technical aspects put together. Goal is to be ready to “open the doors” so to speak on January 1st. (Next year I’ll be adding two messages a month to keep things fresh.)
December 28, 2013 at 5:26 am #223790An update:
Finished writing on Dreamers Cove book 1! Horrah! PAR-TY!
Still behind on the Dark Phoenix, though. And yes, I know people are waiting. I’m working on it!
(One thing not on the list: Sent a Vision article to Zette. Yay!)
