interesting new SF video series combines soap opera and western tropes

So far I’ve only watched the pilot episode, but I’m intrigued. I’m talking about Defiance.

Does anyone else here dig this show?

I’ve been watching it. Season Final is on tomorrow night.

It’s also a game you can play and the TV show can cross over into the game and I think some of the game play will start showing up in the tv show too.

Been renewed for a second season too.

Do you really mean Soap Opera? Or do you mean Space Opera?

I haven’t seen it at all, but I don’t watch television these days.

The show doesn’t deal with ‘space’ but there is aliens. There’s a few story lines that could be considered soap opera-ish

In the sense that there are two powerful rival families in the town of Defiance, each with a J. R. type character. it definitely qualifies as a soap opera.

It’s addictive like one, too. I just binge-watched a bunch of episodes on hulu yesterday. 😳
