An entertaining novel that has much to recommend it. Unlike some of his previous novels, this one has a well defined plot that works it way through to the end. The characters are well developed and stay true to form throughout. The only downside is that some of the social ideas are definitely of the time it was written, which while not detrimental to story can be uncomfortable to contemplate through modern societal norms.

The full title is Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking and it is an exploration mostly of what it means to be an introvert and what its benefits are. The author also explores the good traits of the opposite end of the personality spectrum, but for the most part is is about introverts, and how they should deal with the world, and the world should deal with them. A very interesting book that really gives a good perspective on how people interact or fail to interact and how to deal with it.

A likable protagonist that gets thrown into a world that he belongs to without knowing it. The story is engaging and fast paced, and being the first book of a series leaves you with more questions than answers.
