I haven’t been able to see anything since yesterday. I was hoping the settings would change, but I’m running blind here. I know other people have posted about it, but I can’t see their posts.

Can you tell me what I need to do to get my visibility back? With a little luck I’ll get the replies emailed. I have been getting some emails, but not all of them, and those I did get don’t make sense.

      Thanks for your help! :)

      Happy writing,

As far as I know, the only people who can see the posts are those who are subscribed to the topics and the boards. Way back when, I was subscribed to everything, so give me some idea of what you’re looking for and I might be able to dig the links out of my email.

Most of the discussion I’m seeing is on this thread: https://www.fmwriters.com/zoomfm/index.php/forum/the-main-board/7940-website-updates-coming/66865

Basically, back when I started losing my functional brain, the version of Joomla had to be updated before the PHP version could be advanced. I think I remember Jean doing some testing on it, but the forum software wasn’t updated, so that was a no go. From the look of things, it’s been hanging on in that state ever since, so this is not really an unexpected event.

If I remember correctly – I no longer have access to the thread that has the info – a PHP update to the most recent version of PHP borked the site, and JAM is pushing forward the transfer to the new FM website. Only thing is, she’s got to work during the day, so that’s slowing the process down.

If you have access to this thread, I put the link to that one in this one :). Leaving breadcrumbs so J.A. Marlow doesn’t have to chase everyone around in circles. If you could post it in chat, too, that would be grand.

Honestly, I think the only chatters who come to the boards here regularly are just Me, Jam, Zette, and Anne.

Well, it can’t harm. Give it to Zette to put in one of the headers so Jam doesn’t have to update people in 50 places rather than one.

Mar, I don’t think anybody who chats regularly has used FM’s chat since maybe January. Even I gave up on it months ago because I hadn’t seen anyone in FM chat in a while. We all hang out at Writing Groove’s chat, or in the chat room that comes with the FM/WG group page on MeWe.

Thanks! I just subscribed to everything that’s been active in the last year or so. :)

Oh. I still can’t see the posts without a link. Bummer. I generally go down the first-page list each day and check out some of the new posts. Well, now I’ll get emails to tell me there are new posts — and I’ll know to click on the link at the top instead of using my forum bookmark. (Didn’t even occur to me to try that. Derp.)

LOL! Shows when I last got into chat. It probably wouldn’t overwhelm me anymore :).

Yeah, that’s how I survive, so… Not really the browsing type.
