*waves to all*
I wasn’t going to post here — most of the people who’ve already posted already know who I am — but I was struck reading through this board on how many of us started hanging out here in 2003. I know Myrrdin and I were both pointed over here by Gerri, but a lot of my other online friends have been here just the same amount of time! Nine years. Wow.
For those who don’t know me, I’m a moderator (which you can see over there on the left). My Website proclaims me a “Science fiction and fantasy author,” but I’ve also written cozy mystery, paranormal romance, and one middle grade horror (which trilogy I need to finish). I write pretty much all lengths of fiction, from 100-word drabbles to multi-volume works (well, okay, those are still in process, so I haven’t actually written them yet; my longest completed work is 87k). Just call me Jane of All Trades.October 16, 2012 at 4:57 pm #206694MaripatParticipant

It has been 9 years. Wow…
Time is speeding along too fast for my taste.
I remember how all of us who entered the Wizards of the Coast open call came together to review each other’s entries after Kameron won. And then Marcy went on to make the short list for Eberron and is now writing for them.
I know there must be more MOPers around here too.October 16, 2012 at 5:57 pm #206709
Well, if they’re right about ten years to become an overnight success, that’s good news, right? :silly:
I think Marcy’s still here occasionally. Moontayle — I see him on FB, but not here. Optihut was another MOPer, yes?October 16, 2012 at 6:18 pm #206696Gabriele CampbellParticipant

Another long-timer! Wow, wish I had found this place in 2003. I wonder how different a writer I would be now? Hmm.
Nice mix of genres. Sounds like you have fun trying different stuff (which is great). I’m learning I’m more and more all over the place, too. It keeps it refreshing.
The String Weavers, Salmon Run, Redpoint One series.
