I didn’t do very well with my goal last year, but I’m not giving up. This time, I have a plan! I’ll take my books downstairs to the lobby in my building to read. Spend at least one hour there reading, a few days each week. I’m hoping I’ll get hooked and read for longer.

So, for this year, taking into consideration real-life goals, I plan on reading at least ONE book a month.

      12 for the year.

I’d like to start off with finishing a number of books I’ve not been back to since before November 2015 (and in some cases far longer), in no particular order:

      1. Call of the Herald by Brian Rathbone
      2. [strike]Beware the Wrath of Bunny Hopper by Lazette Gifford[/strike]
      3. Heart Readers by Kristine Kathryn Rusch
      4. Bones of the Past by Holly Lisle
      5. How to Write a Damn Good Mystery by James N. Frey
      6. Into the Forest Shadows by J.A. Marlow
      7. Changeless by Gail Carriger
      8. Throne of Jade by Naomi Novik

About half these books I’ve read past the middle-point, but the rest need much more time and attention. The reason why I’ve not finished them yet? I start to read them, and they make me think of my own writing, and I’m back at my computer trying to fiddle with my stories. So, I’m hoping that removing myself to the lobby will help with this.

        1. Beware the Wrath of Bunny Hopper by Lazette Gifford

Afflicted with an amusing name which induces mockery, Bunny trains as a martial artist in order to find her “inner bunny.” Her martial arts training comes in handy one night when she’s attacked by creatures out of imagination. With the attack, she’s pulled into a world of hidden magic and an ages-old war.

This story does not stop. I’m sorry I took so long to get back to it, and it’s been one book I haven’t finishe reading that’s been most on my mind since I stopped reading it before November. If you’re looking for a fast-paced Urban Fantasy read with a strong female lead, this is the book for you.
