I’ll admit, I have a somewhat personal reason to be interested; I know someone who holds an important enough position at SpaceX they were contacted and interviewed – personally – by Elon Musk. So of course I watched Dragon fly. That is the very first time a reusable rocket carried human beings into space. We’re seeing a lot of history made lately, but it’s hard to get excited about a lot of it. This is different.
I’m waiting to see what percolates through my mind, but I suspect a story – or more than one – may come out of this. I already wrote one story based on SpaceX, when they launched the Tesla roadster into space. For the first time in a long time, I have watched the news, and I am feeling happy and excited, even thrilled. The rest of you presumably don’t know my friend, but I’m just wondering if any of you are excited by this?

Happy writing,

So, YAY!

June 1, 2020 at 1:23 pm #303741I watched the launch live on my laptop. Loved it. Cried happy tears because this should have happened years ago, (returning rockets to use again and again) and it did happen this time. Wonderful. 🙂
August 23, 2020 at 9:09 am #304139I keep thinking that we’ve stifled innovation in the space exploration field, because we aren’t pushing anyone to do anything. I’m hoping what SpaceX does and what they achieve will encourage more to push and create a true innovation race.
