An overwhelmed newbie

Hello! My name is Alyssa, but since I want to write a novel about roller derby, I decided to use my roller derby name: Luna Shovegood. I’ve been doing NaNoWriMo for a few years and one of the girls in my meet-up group is doing this, so I decided to check it out. I’ve never done long-term writing, so I’m looking forward to any sort of tips I can find here!

This is a great place to get inspired to do more writing! We have challenges, dares, prompts, monthly events, classes and workshops to help us to get into the writing regularly. Even in chat we egg each other on.

Starting out with a small goal might be a good way for you to continue the daily writing habit of Nano. Say 100-200 words 5 days a week. A few paragraphs, and you are there, but it will help train your mind to think creatively on a regular basis. Or if you are more of a sprint writer, use the challenges, dares, and marathons we have here to help spur you into a new spurt.
