what is the difference between an introduction and a forward? I really need for a lot of y’all to chime in on this one. explanation will be forthcoming.

Foreword: “reserved for prefatory remarks by someone other than the author”
Preface: “author’s own statement about a work”
Introduction: “Most . . . belong not in the front matter but at the beginning of the text . . . Material about the book — it’s origins, for example — rather than about the subject matter should be included in the preface or in the acknowledgements”
