Get back into writing more regularly.
And not paying attention to all those plotbunnies.
December 29, 2012 at 4:47 pm #210444Here is a link to one of your old forum posts. The date I grabbed was from the top header of your post, where it says, “
Wandering Author Member since May 31st 2007″. Does that link work for you?J.A. Marlow

December 29, 2012 at 4:57 pm #210455To put a little tag under your name in the forum:
- Click on the “Profile” tab.
- On the same line as it says “Profile for (your name)” there is an “Edit” button on the far right.
- A new line of tabs will appear. Click on “Profile Information”.
- The very first line that says “Personal Text” is where you would put your “Member since…” line. Or you can choose to put something else there.
Hope that helps!

December 29, 2012 at 5:04 pm #210235My 2013 Writing Resolution is to work more on my children’s story, take the 2YN, and come closer to making a dent in my book that I’ve been wanting to write.
December 29, 2012 at 5:15 pm #210458Ah, that’s where I put Praefectus Castelli Perditi, and I don’t want to lose that.
Can the mods manually change the register date? It got the one for the new board now, but I’ve been around since May 2003 and I would like to have that somewhere.

By the way, when I click on the link, I see “Member since June 1st 2007”. 😆 Don’t worry. I believe you’re seeing the May 31st date. It just wouldn’t make sense as a ‘transcription error’ (which, as a former professional genealogist, was a possibility I had to at least consider, no offense meant to you). What is almost certainly happening has to do with the time zone settings we are each using to view that post. At least, I know on certain other sites, I can shift many dates displayed by a day by altering that setting. (The site software stores the original date as UTC time – Coordinated Universal Time, then ‘corrects’ that to whatever local time each user has set. Which, depending on the hour, allows for a shift in the date as well.) I don’t know specifically about FM, but all the forum software I’ve ever checked this on seems to follow this pattern. (For some purposes, it would be more useful – however the date is encoded and stored – if it were displayed as the original user’s local time. That, however, would make the software developer’s job so much harder that no one I know of has ever implemented that design.)
January 2, 2013 at 5:31 pm #210236My writing goal is to finish the first draft of a novel by using the 2 month novel chapter challenges here on FM.
I had an epiphany recently and I believe I now understand why I have failed to complete anything in the past.
Fresh site, fresh year, fresh start.
January 2, 2013 at 6:44 pm #210237I like to keep the ideas simple. Write more. Blog more. Submit finished stories to markets. Everything else I accomplish will be gravy.
