I just joined this morning after my very first rejection (six days after my very first submission)... oh well :)

I've written on and off my whole life but I've just started looking at it as a serious possibility for a career again. I've done a lot of fanfic over the years but I tend to stall out writing original pieces (get bored/frustrated or get distracted... or both).

I mostly write scifi and fantasy but I'm planning to try branching out into new genres.

Hi Regina! Welcome to FM!

Hugs on the rejection! Everyone of them is painful. But don't give up hope - you only need one agent or editor to fall in love with your writing.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Hello there!

Rejections are a part of the business, no matter what specific path or method you choose. We even have a game for it here called "The Great Rejection Slip Contest". If it's part of the business, might as well have some fun with it.

We have writers of all sorts of genres here, so if you need any help with any of them, just ask. Take your time going through the forums. Join in the discussions. We also have over 10 year's worth of writing information available in the free emagazine "Vision: A Resource for Writers." (Link is in the header)

Welcome to Forward Motion!

Welcome to Forward Motion! I'm glad you found your way here. Hugs on your first rejection. It takes a lot of courage to send stories out, no matter what the outcome says, you took a leap. Congrats. Now I say to you, send it out again. OH yes, we have a little contest going here on the site:

The Great Rejection Slip Contest

Just in case you're interested.

Have a look around the site and if you have any questions, please ask.
