Lobby: Read New Posts

To speed up the amount of time you spend in the community (if you're on your lunch break, for example, or simply pressed for time), you can have the community present you with only those topics that include posts that you have not read.

You'll find the Read New option on the user command line, in about the middle, in both the Lobby and on the boards. You'll see it highlighted in the image below with a cursor arrow.

The page that opens includes both the Read New function, and directly below that, the Community Search. We'll only use the top section.

Decide whether you want to read just one board, or whether you want to read all of them. If you're new to the community, don't choose Search All Forums. You'll drown. That's a good option once you've action been on most of the boards looking around and have cleared the backlog of messages.

Once you've decide which board or boards you want to retrieve, decide how old you want your new messages to be. You can get all of them, all of them within the last 24 hours, the last week, and the last month. When you've made your selections, click List New Messages.

Then just click through the topics that interest you, and skip those that don't.
