Fun read. Butcher still annoys me with his word repetitions. Lost count of how many times "hell's bell" got repeated. The strength and speed of the story overpowers technicalities like that.

Sequel to All the Windwracked Stars. Not as good as the first, but still enjoyable. The story starts slow, but doesn't disappoint with character nuances. Each person in this series is flawed and, despite being immortal, very human. Once the action tightens, it was hard to put down. Good read.

I'm horrible at reading series out of order, this one being no exception. So, I already knew where the story was going and most of the secrets about John Taylor's mother, etc. Still a fun read to find out how Taylor did what he says he did in later books. Surprised at how many adverbs there were, particularly some badly placed ones. Good read, quirky characters, and a setting with endless surprises.

This book had all the fluff and cuteness I've come to enjoy in Lackey's style, but also had a healthy dose of horror and grotesqueness as well. A Paris ballet dancer, with help from a guardian spirit cat, starts a new life in England. There she runs into trouble with an elemental creature. Very fun read.

Part of a mythology series, this one is about the Norse gods during Ragnorok--the Scandinavian final battle to end the world. Gid, the MC, is a veteran and looking for a way to make money and get back into the action. He winds up fighting beside the Norse deities against Loki. Well written, with lots of great characters and awesome interpretation of mythology. Only one continuity issue with the original mythology, but it was an obscure one and arguably Lovegrove's interpretation is okay. Fun read, and I may read the other books in this series.

This author was recommended to my by my last ex-girlfriend, I now know she had good taste in humor. Lots of sex, quirky characters, and great one-liners.

Really enjoyed this one. Main character is a wimp, but charming none-the-less. Interesting cast of characters. Very cool world-building.

Retelling of Snow White, combined with the myth of Demeter and Persephone. Good, but not for the faint of heart. The characters are tragic, abused, paranoid and lose their way more often than not. Lots of cool imagery and metaphors.

One of the Vlad Taltos novels. Very good, as always. I'm horrible at reading series out of order, including this one, so I felt a little lost at times, but still enjoyable.

Short story collection, and my first introduction to Mieville. Enjoyed all of it, this guy has a wicked imagination. Every story left me saying to myself, "Hey, cool!"

Had a hard time getting through this one. Rather dense with a lot of Elizabethan language (e.g. thee and thou). Fairly typical Bear novel with a complex political plot. But the main character is William Shakespeare, so I'm not complaining much.

Fun read, of course. Almost didn't read it because of the funky teenage goth girl viewpoint, but glad I did.

Sequel to Talyn, but a stand-alone. Liked how it references Talyn as a back-story without fully relying on the other book for support. Very cool world and system of magic, and likable main characters.

Cute and funny read. Nessy, a furry and humble kobald, is a cute main character who uses her head to get out of trouble and is there to save her friends. Lots of cool characters - even objects that normally shouldn't be characters have personalities.

Good read, intriguing story. Liked the interactions of the three main characters and the world building. Doesn't stand alone though, and am looking forward to reading the sequel (Lord Tophet).

My introduction to tarot. Plenty of description and explanation while not being overly long. Uses the Gilded Tarot for illustrations. Good book for a beginner.
