Hello wonderful board!

My name is Kyra! I'm a former teacher and a budding writer trying to fit in chapters between naps, meals and diaper changes for my 2 boys under 2! While I know I'm contributing a lot to my family by being a mom and doing all of the "mom" stuff, I'm hoping I can make some sort of financial contribution someday by writing and writing well. I was referred to this community by the HTTS board, and I'm so glad I found you!

I really hope that this community will be the boost I need to feel confident and competent enough to self publish!

It's wonderful to meet you all and I'm so looking forward to being a part of and contributing to this rich community.

HTTS was pretty amazing.

At one point, I had two kids under the age of 3. It's crazy but you deserve the time to pursue your own interests. A happy mommy is a good mommy.

Ask any questions if you need help. Anyone will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Welcome to our family. Quite a few of us have children (some have quite a few) and know the hassles of fitting writing in.

Best advice I have is to wander around see what feels comfortable to you and dive in. If you can't find what you want, just ask. No one will bite (well not hard anyway and we always have a first aid kit on hand)

And there is always Chat.

Welcome to FM, KC. I've seen you in Chat a few times. It looks like you are starting to get the words down. This place is great about helping with that.

I have a two year old and a 6 mo old so I could have easily written your post. Between diapers and bottles and maps and trying to keep the house clean I feel writing is the only thing I have that is just for me so I'm trying to make it a bigger priority. I try to get into chat as much as can so hope to see you there.

Thanks so much, Atlantis. Being a mom is so rewarding and so hard, especially when you want to fit in stuff for yourself. I'm having a hard time balancing, especially with my second son here. I knew it was going to be hard, but with him constantly eating and my 18 month old needing constant attention, I'm at a loss.

I've managed to write a short story a week and I'm really proud of that. If that's all I'm capable of for a while, I think I'll still feel accomplished.
