Harlequin American Romance

Book: Aiyiyi!

This is the sort of book that you want to throw across the room at the end and wonder how drivel such as this can get published and you are getting rejection slips?

Yes, there was a good catch at the beginning: Arden ditches her Christmas Eve wedding, and a bridegroom made of wet noodles, and escapes to the airport to take the honeymoon alone while figuring out what she's going to do.

Then comes an airport closure due to weather, a nosy relative anyone in their right minds would sucker-punch and a domineering father that incites the same instinct.

The book builds and builds with the meeting of a handsome stranger with a briefcase chained to his wrist, and someone else trapped in the airport who recognizes him and wants to take him out and his new little innocent door-mat beauty when he can after getting sent to jail.

Oh, and the climax? NOTHING!

All the build-up was for nothing. Nothing changed. The two went off, happily ever after, and would have to come back to the same messed up lives and not really changing at all.

The couple is doomed to divorce in a few years, if they aren't dead by then from all the people who want the guy dead.

No closure. No future. A cop-out ending. Don't read this book. Ugh.

Verdict: I would burn this book if it weren't too hot to use the fireplace now.
