I read Roger Zelazny's first five books of the Amber series, which culminated in The Courts of Chaos.

I have to admit that, by the end of it, I was sick of Corwin and sick of Amber, and only finished it because I don't like leaving books unfinished. I'm not sure why I felt this way: I really liked the first four books. Maybe there were just too many twists and it got tiring to read. I don't know. I know that I liked Brand and was upset when he turned out to be the bad guy. Maybe that's what it was. Maybe it was that I really liked Hugi and was upset when Corwin killed him. That seems a little silly of a reason to me. But in any case, the last few chapters went by painfully slowly. I'm definitely not planning on reading the next five.
