I usually read the bio after I'm finished with the book and I'm curious enough to stalk the author learn more. If the bio is lame, it's usually not a deal breaker when I'm bookstore browsing. However, if the bio is full of personality and wit, it may tip me more toward buying (if I bother to read the bio blurb).

I have to admit that I like the snarky and funny bios. Rob Thurman and Gail Carriger both have bios that are pretty funny.
