91148, Is the picture missing
Posted by AnnMcLain, Mon Jul-16-12 08:11 PM
I am using a netbook right now, so maybe that is the problem, but I never get the picture that use to be on the front page when I come to this site now.

I believe Zette removed it to make the header smaller, so fewer people would have to scroll down to see the boards.

I miss the picture, too, but it is nice to see the boards straight off.

Maybe we could have a little picture, linked to a bigger version?

I removed the picture because of complaints about the art itself, not just the size. I don't expect to be putting it back.

Oh! (((Zette)))

People have been focusing too much on me and not enough on the site. This is just a way to make it not so much 'zette' in hopes it will help. We've been doing a lot of nice, basic changes to the site this year, but most of the notes I have gotten are complaints directly about things I do. So I am moving well into the background and removing my obvious influnece and name from the site. I think it's going to help.

It's a shame and I'm sorry you've been put in that position. You deserve so much better.

I'm looking at it as a stress-remover. It's not going to hurt the site, after all.

I'm glad that it will remove stress from you. That is good!

But:

That's sad. I've always found your influence to be a positive one. And I've also always liked the pictures, but I certainly can't complain about wanting to avoid stress!

And then you get complaints about removing the picture... :rolleye: Some days you can't win...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed them :).

For what it's worth, I enjoyed them, too. I won't go so far as to complain that they were removed - it seems there's been far too much of that (complaining) already. But I did enjoy them.

Sometimes, I think people are just not happy unless they have something to complain about.

After all, with as wonderful a place as this is, what else was there to pick on?

Seek and you will find. The July one is still around. Or it was when I looked earlier.

I don't know if Zette will keep illustrating the challenges, but for the moment, yes, the monthly pictures are on the challenge pages. One more incentive to check out the monthly challenge :).

There is going to be a problem. The hard drive with all the models I use died last month and I haven't been able to replace it -- and might not until October or so, at this rate. I have some pictures that I can adapt still (that's what I had to do this month, and why it's such an odd one), but until I can recreate the runtime folders for several thousand models, I'm not going to be doing much of anything, I fear.

Gak. Hugs. But no worries. Everyone will survive.

Hugs! Equipment failure is the pits!

I enjoy your pictures, but I certainly don't want you to stress over them. Your photos are lovely, too, if it would be easier to use them until the hard drive problem can be fixed.

I've been considering photos if I have something that works. Part of the fun has been creating something for the challenge, but I think I have a photo that works for the next one, if I can hunt it down.

I like the idea of photos in the meantime. Mixes things up a bit. You have some lovely photos in your archives.
